Many sites report that there haven’t been any clinical trials on humans. To be exact there have been clinical resveratrol trials on humans, birds, dogs, cats, plants and other animals.

According to the NYTimes, GlaxoSmith Kline has bought the company “sirtris” that discovered resveratrol last year for about $720 million. The company “sirtris” was founded shortly after Dr. Sinclair disovered the compound. Chief Executive is Cr. Christoph Westphal.

In one clinical study Dr. James Smoliga (Marywood University) gave 90 volunteers a polyphenol blend of 400mg Resveratrol dosage, 400mg Red Wine Grape extract, and 100 mg Quercetin. Th research showed that the volunteersexperiences increased endurance,  strength and verbal memory. (Source)

If you want to help to bring the clinical studies on resveratrol to the next step, you can volunteer to be part of a clinical trial. The government page (clinicaltrials.gov) lists various clinical trials on their site. They are researching:

  • Resveratrol in Healthy Adult Participants (currently active)
  • Resveratrol for Patients With Colon Cancer (recruiting)
  • Resveratrol in Preventing Cancer in Healthy Participants (completed)
