Dr Oz Questions and Answers: What is a healthy waist size?

June 29th, 2009 healthiq No comments

Another very interesting question answered by Dr. Oz: What is a healthy waist size and what is the difference between pant size and waist size?

If you divide your height by 2, that number should be more than your current waist size. If it is not, then you have too much belly fat!

Many consumer who take resveratrol report that they lost weight. Resveratrol increases your metabolism, therefore you loose weight. If your waist size is too big, then consider taking resveratrol.

Dr. Mehmet Oz and Oprah discuss the best vitamins for women

June 22nd, 2009 healthiq No comments

This was one of my favorite shows, when Dr Oz and Oprah discussed the best vitamins.

The best vitamins to include with your daily diet

Vitamin D - lack of sunlight can be a cause of vitamin D deficiency

Vitamin D:

If you spend a lot of time outdoors, you should have enough of it, because you are getting it naturally through direct sun exposure.

However, on rainy days or if you mainly work inside a building, you should consider to take vitamin D. You will not only feel better, you will also strengthen your health. It can prevent cancer and heart problems.

DHA omega-3

You can get this vitamin through fish oil or by taking DHA omega-3 supplements. 600 milligrams a day is a recommendation from Dr. Oz. This is the most efficient vitamin to reduce heart diseases, cancer and to some extents wrinkles.

Multivitamin for women: Pre/Post-menopausal

Women (before the menopause) are supposed to consume multivitamin + iron  (vitamin A: 5.000 units) .

Women (after the menopause) are supposed to consume multivitamin (vitamin A: 2500 units).

Why Does Dr. Oz Recommend Resveratrol ?

June 20th, 2009 healthiq No comments

Studies convinced Dr.Oz

Studies convinced Dr.Oz

So, you might wonder what studies convinced Dr. Oz to recommend Resveratrol. Ultra

The answer is quite simple. Harvard scientists are partly responsible for it.Some Harvard scientists wanted to know if we really can live a longer life with the help of resveratrol. So they went out and did it. How? They put a group of mice and fed them a terrible junk food diet (poor mice!) – 60% fat only!

In the end those mice became overweight and developed many health problems.

And here’s the exciting part. As you probably assumed, there was another group of mice who were put on the same diet but that took resveratrol.

Results of the experiment? The mice became overweight too! However, they were healthier, prettier, lived 15-30% longer and had a lot more energy. They were able  to outrun the other mice easily. The group of mice that did not take resveratrol was able to run for 1 mile. The group that was taking resveratrol was able to double it – 2miles!

So why is that? And why was Dr. Oz and many other scientist so amazed at those results? Because resveratrol increases your blood flow, hence your muscles have a lot more energy.

What do consumer reports say? Surprisingly, the resveratrol testimonials say exactly the same! On a forum, 29 people are reporting exactly the same -they have more energy, improved mood and a lower appetite (which will lead to weight loss).

That’s why Dr Oz is an advocate of resveratrol! But why resveratrol ultra?

Sidenote: You can order it here and pay less than what you would normally pay for resveratrol. ultra

Conclusion? Those studies convinced Dr. Oz and consumer report similar effects – so resveratrol does really work!

Do you want to know what dose of resveratrol Dr. Oz recommends? Click here.

Simply, resveratrol ultra is the most popular supplement out there that showed the best effects. Resveratrol Ultra is so popular that one company copied their supplement and is selling it under a different name.

Dr. Oz Diet Urges ‘Staying hungry is the key’

June 19th, 2009 healthiq No comments
Dr Oz Diet - Stay Hungry

Dr Oz Diet - Stay Hungry

Drink 1000 bottles of per day and eat 30% less calories and you be the healthiest person you could ever be. That was the introduction of the World Science Festival, last year.

Resveratrol can help you to do the first part and a calorie restriction diet to do the latter one.

Nearly two decades ago, a group of monkeys have been put on a diet. By now it is becoming very clear that the monkeys do not suffer any side effects – yet they even look younger and healthier and have a lower rate of heart diseases than the well-fed monkey.

So, staying hungry makes you become healthier. But how would that be possible in a society of people who love to eat with a passion and are becoming angry if they feel hungry? Resveratrol can help, but you still have to change your eating habits!

Dr Oz, “doctor of america”, has published several books. One of it “YOU:On a diet”, which can help you to change you eating habits.  Read my book review of Dr Oz’s ‘YOU on a diet’. You can find a list of all books by Dr Oz here.
